Bold move, McAdams!
Rachel McAdams was spotted at LAX on Friday, Dec. 19, walking around the airport all bundled up in a sweatshirt and a tartan scarf. And to accompany her home-for-the-holidays ensemble: a not-so-subtle ombre ‘do!
After a year of celebrities rocking the subtle ombre—or “sombre”—fade, the Notebook alum, 36, decided to bring back the platinum dip, creating an impressive divide between her chocolate roots and bright blonde ends.
McAdams has always been a gal to march to the beat of her own sartorial drum. In 2007, the Canadian-born beauty rocked pink streaks in her blonde bob, which she once told Glamour was something she had “always” wanted to do. “I wanted to do my whole head, but my hairstylist, Robert [Ramos], was like, ‘How about we start small?'” she joked.
McAdams added, “I still think about doing blue at some point, but I don’t like to change my hair before I’m about to do [a film]—you never know what that character’s going to be.” Since the start of her career, those characters have been brunettes, blondes, and redheads, allowing the actress to get playful with her tresses.
Perhaps her latest beauty statement is for her role as Sheriff Ani Bezzerides in the upcoming season of True Detective. The hit HBO series, returning summer 2015, is already filming, and McAdams is reportedly due to join the cast on set very soon.
