Jessica Alba‘s out of the country for Thanksgiving, but instead of missing out on a traditional family celebration, the stunning actress made the holidays come early!
Alba took to the kitchen with her mom and dad to create the ultimate early Thanksgiving feast. And while the actress and her mother prepared a traditional turkey, her dad spiced things up for the adults in the party.
“We had even more to be grateful for than usual since we had two turkeys this year!” Alba shared via her Honest website. “My mom and I were in charge of the traditional preparation; my dad took care of the hot n’ spicy option.”
The actress shared a host of photos of her family’s culinary creations and despite being supremely health conscious, admitted she even allows a little cheating when it comes to preparing a full holiday meal.
“Let’s be honest, there’s no shame in the Thanksgiving game,” she insisted. “I give myself a helping hand with a ‘halfway homemade’ approach to prepping a holiday feast so I can focus on great execution and making sure everyone gets fed. I’m happy to have my favorite fat-free, gluten-free marshmallows make an appearance on our classic yams,” she told fans.
After sharing her dad’s spicy turkey recipe, the mom-of-two had a top tip for readers hoping for a perfectly moist, well cooked turkey this Thanksgiving.
“Cook turkey top down (upside down) until the last half-hour to get all the flavor goodness right where it matters the most!” she said.
The thankful mom posted a load of photos of her amazing array of food, and also shared some super-cute snaps of her two daughters, Honor, 6, and Haven, 3.
“Cash took our girls outside to play,” she said of her husband, Cash Warren‘s role in the turkey preparation. “I just had to hope their dresses would survive until the meal was served.”
Wishing fans a happy turkey day from “half way around the world,” Alba added, “Whether it’s early or on time, Thanksgiving for me will always be about who’s around the table as well as what’s on the table. Happy Thanksgiving!”
