Tori Spelling
Tori Spelling opened up about her lack of privacy while raising four kids at a recent event.

True TMI! Tori Spelling has a lot of her plate these days. The actress, 41, is working hard on her marriage to Dean McDermott a year after Us Weekly broke the news that he had cheated on her. She’s doing so in front of reality TV cameras on her Lifetime show, True Tori, and did we mention she’s also raising four kids?

The stress of it all finally caught up to the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star in October when she was hospitalized for pneumonia and placed in a dramatic, Ebola-like quarantine. More than a month later, Spelling appeared healthier at the 4th Annual Santa’s Secret Workshop, produced and hosted by Bill Horn and Scout Masterson of Marque Communications at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood on Saturday, Dec. 6.

“With four little ones everyone is always sick, and being mom, I never take time for myself until I get so hard that I end up in the hospital like I did,” she explained to Us Weekly. “Now that was a wake up call to know that when mom is down, the ship goes down. So I have to basically make sure that I take time for myself every now and then to make sure I’m healthy so I can be there for them.”

Spelling shares sons Liam, 7, and Finn, 2, and daughters Hattie, 3, and Stella, 6, with McDermott, 48, and admits that it gives her practically zero privacy.

“I am never by myself,” she continued. “I don’t even think I’ve peed alone in the last eight years. I’m not kidding. I’m trying to learn. That’s something I’m working on. That will be my New Year’s resolution. It’s been hard, but as they get a little bit older, I’m feeling more comfortable doing it. It’s just something I need to make a priority for all of our happiness. I want to take a little time to do things with my friends.”

Tori & Dean
Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling are still working on their troubled marriage a year after Us Weekly broke the news of his affair.

Not only does she have four little ones, but Spelling is also publicly dealing with some deep-rooted marriage issues.

“On one hand it’s not easy, on the other hand it’s made me realize I’m not the only one that goes through these types of problems,” she said. “There’s women everywhere that struggle with things and issues, families and marriages. I think when things happen within a marriage you kind of feel isolated and people have been very supportive within the last year.”

For Christmas this year the family of six is staying home and celebrating by cooking, baking, and decorating.

“The kids make salt dough ornaments,” Spelling revealed. “It’s dough and salt, and you bake it and let them dry. It turns out hard then you paint them an hang them. Each year they add to their collection, so I’m hoping by the time their adults and married they’ll have a big box of annoying salt dough ornaments that their spouse will be like, ‘Do we really have to put these tacky things on the tree?’ and they’ll be like, ‘Yeah my mom made us make them.’”
