Welcome to his AMA, bitch! Adam Brody did an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit on Thursday, Aug. 28, and was of course badgered with questions regarding two topics: his wife, Leighton Meester, and the show that launched his career, The OC.
Immediately, a fan asked Brody: “How’s Leighton?” “She’s swell!” Brody, 34, said of his wife, 27. (Us Weekly exclusively revealed in February 2014 that the Oranges costars got married in a top-secret wedding.) Brody went on to reveal how many kids he wants to have with the Gossip Girl alum. “I say twelve,” he responded. “And I decide.”
Another inquisitive participant asked Brody what life was like at their household. “I do some stuff but she definitely does the heavy lifting (figuratively),” he said of his wife. “Literally, I do the heavy lifting.”
Along with Meester, Brody also entertained fans on the hot topic of The OC, and whether he misses it. “I miss the original 90210, actually,” he responded. The lanky actor further reflected about the drama and his quirky and beloved character, Seth Cohen. “I think ultimately it was a comforting show for people,” Brody told fans, “and I hope it did more of that than reinforce any negative stereotypes or whatnot.”
Brody also revealed what it was like kissing Rachel Bilson, who played his love interest (and later, wife) Summer Roberts. “One of the all time greats!” the actor responded of his ex-girlfriend of three years.
Since The OC ended in 2007, its central stars have moved on both professionally and personally: Hart of Dixie lead Bilson is currently expecting her first child with Hayden Christensen, Ben McKenzie will star in a new series, Gotham, this fall, and Brody will play the lead on his new show, The Cosmopolitans. “I’m in constant psychic communication with all of them,” the actor joked of his former castmates. “And Ben and I also get lunch in this dimension sometimes… I do still keep in contact with Ben, but I bully the s— out of him.”
Recently, Guardians of the Galaxy hunk Chris Pratt observed that the stars of The OC took their work for granted when he joined the cast in its final season. Asked by a fan if that was the case, Brody responded: “I do not think we were guilty of taking it for granted. I also love Chris and he loves me so shut up!”
