Don't mess with Betty! Beloved actress and animal rights activist Betty White railed against Walter Palmer, the dentist who killed Cecil the Lion, in a new interview with the Associated Press.
The Golden Girls alum, 93, sounded off on the tragedy a few days after news broke that the American dentist shot and killed the famed lion in Zimbabwe earlier this month. She had a strong reaction to the hunting and expressed her anger to the AP.
"You don't want to hear some of the things I want to do to that man," she said of Palmer. The Minnesota-based dentist has been facing widespread heat and hate in the days since the news broke. According to The Huffington Post, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is even investigating the killing and has put out a statement about attempts to contact Palmer.
"It's such a heartbreaker," White continued of Cecil's death. "You can't even talk about it, and to see this king of the jungle and personifying it in every way, this gorgeous creature. How can somebody do that?"
The Proposal star is hardly the only celeb to denounce Palmer's act. Sharon Osbourne was just as angry, tweeting, "I hope that #WalterPalmer loses his home, his practice & his money. He has already lost his soul… When he dies, I hope someone mounts his ugly ass head to the wall. #WalterPalmer is a COWARD."
Mia Farrow weighed in via Twitter, writing, "Animals are not trophies. Ever. #CecilTheLion," while Debra Messing added, "SHAME ON HIM! I want them to take his citizenship away. I'm ashamed and horrified by what he did. #CecilTheLion."
