Blizzard Juno: Principal Does Hilarious Frozen Parody in “School Is Closed” Video

Instead of stocking up on groceries before Winter Storm Juno, this Providence, R.I., principal was finishing up a snow day music video — for his students! Matt Glendinning from Moses Brown School announced his school’s cancellation with a hilarious Frozen parody titled “School Is Closed,” using the film’s trademark track “Let It Go” for inspiration.

Glendinning didn’t hold back in the 4-minute clip. Wearing a matching black-and-white scarf and hat, he belted out original lyrics while reading literature, sipping on hot cocoa, and sitting in his office. Some students also got in on the fun. (Moses Brown is a pre-K through 12th grade Quaker school.)

“The snow glows white on Route 95, not a tire track to be seen / We could make you come to school, but that would just be mean,” he sings in the clip. “The plows are running but still the traffic starts to slide / So don’t come to school, just stay inside.”

“Don’t come to school here at MB / Today, the snow has set you free,” he continues. Adding: “Stay inside or go out and play / Gonna grab my sleigh — the cold never bothered me anyway!”

The clever concept for “School Is Closed” came from the school’s director of communications, Adam Olenn. “I had the song ‘Let It Go’ in my head,” he told FOX411. “We came up with the idea about two or three weeks ago. We had Justin Peters, the choral director, record the song. And we did the last scene on Friday. Our students appear in it as well. When we saw the forecast, we had to hurry up to get the editing done.”

“We wanted to do something nice for the kids. Since I came on board to the school in July, we have been trying new things like a comic book for our annual and financial report so it’s engaging and people want to read these things,” Olenn explained. “We also thought the kids would get to see the Head of School in a different light.”
