Caitlyn Jenner blogs that she "totally isolated" herself from the transgender community until coming out.

Caitlyn Jenner is continuing to share her story. On Monday, July 6, the former Olympian once known as Bruce, 65, posted a lengthy editorial on WhoSay to mark her first in a series of posts about issues faced by the LGBT community. "Up until now, I have totally isolated myself from the transgender community so I have a lot of catching up to do," Jenner wrote in her first "The Real Me" article.

"I feel such a responsibility to this courageous group to try to get it right and tell all sides of the story," said the recently transitioned Jenner, who will tell her story on E! this month in the docuseries I Am Cait. "To me, that's always the biggest question: am I doing it right?"

Celebrating June's pride month with friends in the LGBT community has been eye-opening for the Kardashian-Jenner family patriarch, who shares daughters Kendall, and Kylie, with ex Kris Jenner, and is stepdad to Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian. During a recent New York City dinner with transgender friends, Jenner realized her newbie status when speaking to the women. "I went around the table and asked each of them how long it had been since their transitions. One said 20 years, the other one said 15 years ago . . . seven years ago . . . three years ago. . . They came around to me and I said, 'Two weeks,'" Jenner recalled.

"Flash forward a few weeks and I've already learned so much about this community, the issues, and the people involved. It's been an eye-opening experience for me — mainly realizing how fortunate I am," she continued. "Seeing how my new friends have overcome their adversities is such an inspiration. They are so well-adjusted and smart. . . . They are just like you and me."

Jenner concluded her first editorial by going into detail about future topics to be discussed in her blog, including "the serious issues and lessons that I am learning through this process."
