Chris Brown is tryin’ to be loyal to his daughter, Royalty — and by loyal, we mean getting it straight with the law. According to TMZ, the “Ayo” singer has filed documents to establish paternity of his little girl with Nia Guzman.

Brown, who learned he was a father months after Royalty’s birth, reportedly filed legal documents in Houston so that he can take Guzman to court regarding custody and child support for their 12-month-old.

TMZ reports that Guzman is demanding $15,000 a month while Brown has been paying her $2,500 a month, the amount he believes is more fair.

Brown also reportedly claims that Guzman has been denying him legal rights to see his daughter.

“A lot has changed in my life, a lot of mistakes, a lot of lessons learned. The best thing, I’m most thankful for is my daughter,” Brown gushed at the 2015 BET Awards last Sunday. “At the end of the day, love is love.”
