Good news for Sean Diddy Combs — the rapper won’t be charged with a felony following his alleged brawl with UCLA assistant coach Sal Alosi. According to TMZ, the hip-hop mogul’s assault case has been rejected by the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
The “Bad Boy for Life” artist isn’t off the hook though. His case will now be reviewed by the Los Angeles City Attorney, which means he could still face misdemeanor charges.
As previously reported, Diddy claims he was acting in self defense after getting into a confrontation with his son’s football coach and an intern, during which he allegedly assaulted them with a kettlebell.
“The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate,” Nathalie Moar, a rep for Combs Enterprises, told The Associated Press following Diddy’s June 22 arrest. “What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son.”
Diddy was arrested at UCLA’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the UCPD previously confirmed to Us. The altercation went down after Alosi scolded Diddy’s son.
“We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed,” his rep previously told the AP.
