No moving forward without looking back! On the eve of her birthday, Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram to share an adorable snapshot of herself as a giddy youngster.
“#TBT,” she captioned the cute photo on Thursday, July 23, which shows a young Lopez in a red top, smiling off-camera while propped up behind a large birthday cake, her hair in two tiny buns on either side of her head.
The songstress, who turned 46 on Friday, July 24, has been vocal about her enviable age-defying looks. Earlier this year, during Us Weekly’s “Best Bodies” issue photo shoot, she told Us, “I see pictures of myself in my 20s and go, ‘Oh, I look better now!’”
In an interview with Complex magazine for their February/March cover, she opened up about other crucial things that get better with age.
“I feel great about being able to do everything that I did in my 20s better now,” she told the magazine at the time. “That’s what happens as you mature, you get better. You have more experience. And I’m proud of that.”
“That other rhetoric, like the fairy tale rhetoric, in your mind can defeat you,” she continued. “And this generation of women said, ‘No. We have a lot to offer.’ Probably more than we ever have. And it’s great for girls that are young right now to go, ‘I have time.’ It’s a long road. And for me, I feel like mine has just begun.”
And life seems to be treating the “Booty” singer well. Lopez is mother to twins Max and Emme, 7, with ex Marc Anthony, and is currently dating on-again, off-again beau Casper Smart.
Lopez plans to celebrate her big day with a birthday bash on Saturday, July 25, at the 1Oak Southampton.
