Hough’s happily ever after! Julianne Hough is on cloud nine following her engagement to Brooks Laich. The Dancing With the Stars judge showed off her new Lorraine Schwartz ring — and her fiance(!) — at the Television Academy’s Emmy Awards Choreographer Nominee Reception at the Montage Beverly Hills on Sunday, Aug. 30.
The night marked the couple’s first red carpet since their engagement news. As previously reported, the NHL player popped the question earlier this month after nearly two years of dating.
“Julianne held her guy’s hand, laughed and grinned like crazy,” an onlooker tells Us Weekly. “[She] introduced [him] to everyone.”
Hough, 27, and her husband-to-be, 32, were joined by her older brother, Derek Hough, DWTS pro Witney Carson, and dancers Tessandra Chavez and Travis Wall. The group toasted their Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography for their “Elastic Heart” DWTS routine. They also gushed about Julianne’s impending nuptials.
“He’s a great guy. He’s an amazing man,” Derek, 30, told Us Sunday night. “It’s good for all of us to sort of have somebody like that in our lives. So it’s great.”
Carson, meanwhile, was taken aback by Julianne’s massive new 6-carat oval-cut diamond ring. “It’s crazy! It almost blinded me when I saw it. It’s so big. I love it,” the 21-year-old exclaimed. She added: “They are just the cutest couple. They are perfect together.”
This will be the first marriage for Julianne, who dated Ryan Seacrest from 2011 to 2013. But before wedding planning, the newly engaged pair will pop champagne with loved ones next month. “I’m going to their engagement party…” Wall, 27, told Us. “It should be fun.”
