Kelly Osbourne has slowly been removing some of her tattoos over the past year, but decided to add one more for a very special reason on Thursday, Oct. 23. The E! Fashion Police star paid tribute to her late friend Joan Rivers by getting a bumblebee tattoo on her right shoulder.
"Getting a tattoo from tattoo legend #MarkMahoney @sharmrockSocialClub!" the 29-year-old captioned a pic via Instagram.
"In honor of you @joanrivers…'If you looked at aerodynamics, at science, the bumble bee should not be able to fly," she continued. "'Physically, it was just not anatomically equipped to soar. Yet it did, defying gravity, defying logic. The bee was a creature that defied and beat the odds, a miracle.' Thank you for being my Miracle @joanrivers."
Like so many others, Osbourne took the death of her E! Fashion Police cohort Rivers last month very hard. She posted a picture of the longtime friends via Facebook on Sept. 4.
"I'm completely heartbroken by the loss of my beloved Joan. Not only was she my boss, she was and will always be my teacher, therapist, closest friend, inspiration and the grandmother I ever knew," she wrote at the time. "She was family and I will never forget her."
Osbourne knew Rivers since she was a little girl. At just 6 years old, she appeared on The Joan Rivers Show with her famous family in 1991.
