Lena Dunham Caught Watching Tina Fey’s Girls Spoof on Saturday Night Live: Picture

Caught! Tina Fey spoofed the HBO series Girls while hosting the Season 39 premiere of Saturday Night Live, and creator and star Lena Dunham couldn’t help but smile at the hilarious montage. Dunham’s pal and fellow actress Mindy Kaling took a snapshot of the 27-year-old watching the segment live.

“Watching @lenadunham enjoy Blerta on #snl’s #girls in my living room,” the Mindy Project star wrote via Twitter on Sept. 28. “Original Girl enjoying Blerta on #snl’s Girls at my house @lenadunham,” she added on Instagram. In the adorable photo, a smiling Dunham is cozied up on Kaling’s couch watching Fey dressed up on screen playing the never-before-seen girl named Blerta — from Albania.

In the clip, Fey reenacted several scenes with the HBO characters. Some of the moments Fey poked fun of included Shoshanna’s donut hairstyle, Marnie’s relationship issues and Dunham’s character Hannah trying to deal with life and her on-again off-again boyfriend Adam.

Dunam’s reaction? “The SNL parody of Girls was a true honor,” she later tweeted. “Very excited about the current lineup of SNL ladies. They are funny like whoa.”
