Selena Gomez, Lorde End Their Feud to Support Taylor Swift at 2014 AMAs: Pictures!

Selena Gomez and Lorde made up for the sake of Taylor Swift
Lorde, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift all sat together at the 2014 American Music Awards on Nov. 23.

Taylor Swift makes everything better, apparently. After former Disney star Selena Gomez and New Zealander Lorde had a public feud last year, the pair seemed to bury the hatchet at the 2014 American Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Both ladies performed at the show, with Lorde, 18, hopping around the stage, headbanging to her new hit off The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 soundtrack, “Yellow Flicker Beat,” and Gomez, 22, belting an emotional rendition of her new Justin-Bieber-themed single “The Heart Wants What It Wants.”

Supporting both of her friends from the audience was chart-topper Swift, who bounced in the crowd (in a Michael Kors gown) during Lorde’s performance and was visibly emotional during Gomez’s. So when the time came for Tay, 24, to accept her special Dick Clark Award For Excellence, her two besties, along with Victoria’s Secret model pal Karlie Kloss, stood side-by-side cheering her on.

The feud between the goth-lite “Royals” singer and the chirpy pop star started last year in January when Lorde called out Gomez’s hit song “Come & Get It” as antifeminist.

Lorde, Selena Gomez, and Karlie Kloss supported Taylor Swift as she went up to receive the Dick Clark Award at the 2014 American Music Awards on Nov. 23.

“I’m a feminist and the theme of her song is, ‘When you’re ready, come and get it from me,’” she said in an interview with Rolling Stone at the time. “I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.”

Gomez fought back in a cover story for Flaunt magazine, saying, “That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her.”

This isn’t the first time Lorde has picked a fight. In fact, before she became gal pals with Swift, she talked about her future friend in Metro magazine, saying her image was, “so flawless and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls.”

Clearly they moved on, and Lorde has joined the legions of stars, including Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Demi Lovato, and Sarah Hyland, whom Swift has welcomed into her inner circle.

These days, Lorde is only feuding with those who diss her friends, like Katy Perry’s DJ boyfriend Diplo. Girl power!
