Crying tears of joy! SkyMall is back after four dreadful months, Time magazine reports. The very odd (yet intriguing!) products that fliers never knew they wanted are now back on the market.
Back in January, SkyMall ceased to exist when its parent company, Xhibit Corp., filed for bankruptcy. But after some business maneuvering (and maybe some prayers from Chrissy Teigen!) it was purchased by another corporation in April.
According to Time, New Jersey's C&A Marketing bought SkyMall for a whopping $2 million. In fact, the company has already started to promote some of its quirky (must have now!) items via Twitter. Among them? A KATU head massager, and a table held up by a naked sumo wrestler statue. Because, of course.
Shoppers are thrilled for its return, but one celebrity who will perhaps be jumping out of their airplane seat is Teigen. The model, 29, was outraged when SkyMall was kicked to the curb.
"THERE IS NO SKYMALL MAGAZINE ON MY FLIGHT THIS IS ALL HAPPENING SO FAST," John Legend's wife tweeted at the time. "Sometimes I would be trembling from turbulence and I used you to calm myself. You were the calm DURING the storm my dearest skymall."
Teigen has yet to react to SkyMall's comeback, but now's her chance to say goodbye to Swedish online shopping. "Ordered some clothes online from apparently, sweden. ups won't let me take it without writing a check for $500. 1, wtf. 2, who has checks," she tweeted on Wednesday, May 27. "Perhaps swedish clothing should come with a warning label."
