Taylor Swift and her brother Austin Swift are staying humble — remembering where they’ve come from despite being uber VIPs at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Swift, 25, who won three Moonmen at the always-controversial awards ceremony, brought her 23-year-old younger brother along for the ride, and what a ride it was!
Not only did she and her bro get to celebrate her wins at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, they also got a chance to party afterwards with some of the biggest names in music, at the Republic Records VMA Party, where they took over a booth right by Joe Jonas‘ DJ area.
And at one point, humble Austin became totally overwhelmed by the craziness of the evening.
Sharing the sweet moment via Twitter, Swift’s pal Lorde recounted Austin and Taylor’s conversation: “At the after party austin leaned down from the banquette heaving with models in vip to whisper in taylor’s ear ‘we grew up on a FARM!!'”
Enjoying her brother’s incredulity, Swift quickly followed up Lorde’s tweet with a photo of her own, which showed herself and her brother sitting on her dad’s knee on a tractor, when they were tiny.
Swift has spoken in the past about her idyllic upbringing. “I grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Reading, Penn.,” she revealed. “It was the most magical fun childhood. We had grape arbours and we would make jam with my mom,” she said.
Life’s definitely changed a little for the Swift family since those days!
