Yolanda Foster grew up as a successful self-made model, married former Iraqi politician turned mega Hollywood architect Mohammed Hadid, divorced, remarried current husband (and 16-time Grammy winner) David Foster, and resides in a 11,622 square-foot Malibu mansion — but according to a new profile in Dujour magazine, she’s surprisingly normal.
“Yolanda shops at Target. She has an AOL account. She wears clogs from her native Holland to calm herself down when she’s nervous, and the only brand name [she] endorses in our interview is Jenga,” observed writer Richard Morgan during an interview and photo shoot with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her model daughter Bella Hadid.
The shoot was like a girls' night out for the mother-daughter duo, who cheered each other on throughout the day. “You look cute today!” Yolanda told her daughter, who explained to the magazine that she moved to NYC to model because “people who start in L.A. end up in L.A.”
But the down-to-earth Bravo star, who is battling Lyme disease, has had to fight for her health as of late, which she admits on RHOBH has made her thankful for the little things.
Foster, also mom to budding supermodel Gigi Hadid, has been keeping fans updated on her battle via Instagram. “Some people are made when they are broken #NoteToSelf #BrokenButDeterminedToBeatThis #ClinicalTrail#3 #SearchingForACure #ChronicLymeDisease,” Foster captioned a photo of herself getting an IV on Tuesday, March 24.
While chatting with Us Weekly, Yolanda’s husband David told Us his wife is struggling with the infectious disease. "Yolanda is truthfully not great. She's just waging this war," the record producer, 65, told Us last month. "She's down right now. She keeps traveling the world looking for a cure and when she finds it she'll be able to give that to the world."
