Kim Kardashian, watch your back. Zendaya Coleman has officially mastered accepting apologies — and selfies. The former Disney star’s Instagram followers have praised her selfie-taking skills for months, and now, the fearless 18-year-old is revealing just how she does it. This is important, people, so listen up.
For one, the K.C. Undercover star doesn’t just take a few snaps — she takes a ton. “It can be up to 50 [tries],” she told StyleCaster in a recent interview. “It can be a good day where I am just like ‘Oh snap, I got that in the first three’ or it can be like, ‘I should just quit.’”
When it comes to achieving that perfect shot, she says it’s all about the lighting.
“Lighting, people — always find good lighting! Face toward the window, unless you want to be backlit. [And] find your angles,” she explained. “Take some time one day, look in the mirror, and look at the different angles of your face. Embrace which one you like the best, so find your sweet spot. And pick the right filters. Don’t go crazy and bump up the exposure so much, or you’ll become a blob. People want to see your face — you’re beautiful. Find the right filters to enhance what you have going on.”
The teenager, who became a genuine household name after her Oscars drama with Giuliana Rancic, also revealed she has quite an array of style icons. “My dad is my style icon. Madonna is my style icon. And Erykah Badu,” she admitted. “Yeah, I would say [I am] fearless.”
