According to WWD, FLOTUS favorite Maria Cornejo scored an invite, as well as executives from Jimmy Choo and Talbots, to name a few. In the e-mails, everyone RSVP-ing “Yes!” was asked to provide his or her Social Security number—because even world-renowned fashion designers get background checks.

Other designers that appear as staples in Mrs. Obama’s closet, who may also have scored an invite to the affair, include: J. Crew’s executive creative director Jenna Lyons, Tracy Reese, and Jason Wu, the man behind Obama’s 2009 and 2013 Inaugural Ball dresses.

The fashion summit will come just in time for the Cooper-Hewitt Museum’s National Design Week, which runs from Oct. 4 to Oct. 12, a high point of which will be the National Design Awards in New York City on Oct. 9.
