Makin’ it red carpet official! Robert Pattinson and fiancee FKA twigs hit a major milestone in their relationship on Monday, May 4: their red carpet debut as a couple. For the first time since they started dating, the lovebirds posed together at an official event, the 2015 Met Gala in New York City.
The singer, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, turned heads in a multicolored lace Christopher Kane dress printed with naked bodies. (Check out the feet-shaped hemline and the, ahem, penis by the leg slit!) She accessorized with what looked like her engagement ring from Pattinson, who looked dapper in a black tux.
The buzzed-about Brit, 27, and the Twilight hunk, 28, have been dating since 2014. At the time, a source told Us they’d bonded over music. FKA apparently thought Pattinson was “unbelievably handsome.”
In November of that year, she opened up to USA Today about their romance, saying that as much as she hated the “vacuous attention,” she was willing to put up with it to be with the Maps to the Stars hunk.
“The positivity that I get from [my relationship] makes the more challenging aspects…very worth it,” she told the paper.
Flash forward a few months, and she and Pattinson are engaged. “They’ve been inseparable,” an insider told Us Weekly of the husband and wife-to-be. “They’ve been living together, and he’s calling her his greatest love.”
