Bangin’! The power trio of Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj teamed up to treat audiences to a new single, “Bang Bang,” which debuted with quite the bang on Monday, July 28.
Jessie J, 26, enlisted the two talents for the track, with Grande, 21, contributing her powerhouse vocals and Minaj, 31, spitting a verse that perfectly completes the song. “Bang Bang” is the first single off of Jessie J’s upcoming third studio album, due out later this year.
Following Jessie’s chorus of, “Bang bang into the room / I know you want it / Bang bang all over you / I’ll let you have it,” Minaj enters “Bang Bang” with quick rhymes, giving nods to her collaborators.
“It’s me, Jessie, and Ari,” she raps. “If they test me they sorry / Riders look like a Harley / Then pull off in this Ferrari.”
Now with three songs in the top 20 on iTunes, Grande quiets any doubts about her vocal prowess with “Bang Bang,” belting to close out the track.
The catchy single quickly rose to No. 1 on iTunes in the early hours of Tuesday, July 29. “I can’t even breathe!” Jessie J captioned a shot of the chart performance via Instagram. “Tears of joy! You have no idea how much this means! Thank you THANK YOU.”
