She's a star! Britney Spears is going to guest star on her absolute favorite TV show, Jane the Virgin, during the CW hit's second season. The singer and sometime actress spilled the beans on Twitter on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

The pop star, 33, will play herself in the fifth episode of Season 2. "We are so thrilled that Rogelio's 'nemesis' — Britney Spears — has agreed to appear on Jane The Virgin," confirmed creator Jennie Snyder Urman in a press release. "Personally, after hearing about their longstanding feud (from Rogelio's point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears' side of the story, which we assume is quite different."
The CW president Mark Pedowitz told reporters at his Television Critics Association panel in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Tuesday that once the Jane the Virgin team found out the singer was a fan of the show, they pursued her for a guest role.
"All I know at this point is, it's one of Britney's favorite shows. We understood that. Jennie and the studio went after Britney once they heard it was one of her favorite shows of all time," the network head said. "To their credit, and to Britney's credit, she decided she'd come do it. I believe she's playing herself."
Spears has guest-starred on How I Met Your Mother and Will & Grace — but not as herself — and, of course, headlined the Shonda Rhimes-written movie Crossroads.
Jane The Virgin returns Monday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
