Kris Jenner Breaks Down Over Bruce Jenner’s Transition in KUWTK Special: Watch

Before Bruce Jenner announced to the world that he is, “for all intents and purposes,” a woman, he had to break the news to his famous family. Now, in a two-part Keeping Up With the Kardashians special airing later this month, fans will see how that played out — and how ex-wife Kris Jenner and their kids dealt with the information in their own ways.

As seen in this first clip from the special, released by E! on Monday, May 4, Kris took the news hard, and very personally. The footage above shows her breaking down in tears while talking to daughter Kim Kardashian about Bruce’s transition, which he revealed to the public in a much-lauded Diane Sawyer interview on April 24.

“He has to deal with this for his entire life, of waking up and feeling like, ‘Whoa, this isn’t my body. This doesn’t feel comfortable,'” Kim, 34, tells her mother, 59. “That’s the only way I can kind of imagine it. And you really have to, like, let go.”

Easier said than done. “I have these memories of this life,” Kris replies, crying. “And I feel sometimes like it didn’t exist.”

According to Bruce, 65, Kim has been, “by far, the most accepting and the easiest to talk to” of the Kardashian girls. She credits husband Kanye West with helping her to come around, saying he told her, “Look, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful little daughter in the world. I have that. But I’m nothing if I can’t be me.”

The two-part KUWTK special is set to air Sunday, May 17, and Monday, May 18, at 9 p.m. both nights. The Today show will air more exclusive first look clips from the special on Tuesday, May 5. According to a press release about the show, it will include “intimate conversations that Bruce had with his famous family,” as well as home videos of Bruce “as a father, husband, and friend.”
