Maci Bookout Reacts to Farrah Abraham’s Teen Mom OG Return: “I’m Not Going to Lie and Say I Was Happy About It” — Watch Now!

She’s baaack! Farrah Abraham shocked fans — and her costars — when she signed on to return to MTV’s Teen Mom OG for the reality series’ new season. Many thought Abraham had left behind the show about motherhood when she made her foray into the adult film and erotic novel industry.

“When I got the call to come back, it was a little bit awkward for me, and I tried to work with them the best that I could,” Abraham exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting the new series. “I was just a little bit reluctant because of the progress I made while I was not on the show. I think it’s good to be back for Sophia’s sake and showing how our lives are to help others. And that’s why we’re back.”

The decision was sprung on Abraham’s three other costars — Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Amber Portwood — well into filming the new season, and the ladies quickly made it clear that they weren’t pleased. In fact, in the preview clip, Bookout threatened to quit the show herself.

Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham, and Catelynn Lowell will star on Teen Mom OG, premiering on Monday, March 23.

“I’m not going to lie and say I was happy about it,” the Tennessee native told Us. “But, I mean, it’s something that I guess people will just have to watch on the show. And it has nothing to personally do with Farrah at all. I have no hard feelings towards her whatsoever. “

Many of the other girls felt Abraham’s mature new image was not in line with the show’s teen pregnancy prevention message. But at the end of the day, they stepped up to the plate to film their own stories.

“I think there was a lot of miscommunication about things,” Lowell told Us. “Like, I can say that I jumped to conclusions when somebody wrote something that Farrah said about me. We might have different opinions about things, but we are both adults and put your differences aside and just be ok with each other.”
